Principal's Message

Dear 59th Street Families and Community Members,

I am honored and consider it a privilege to serve and lead our school community of learners and professionals. As a product of the Los Angeles Unified School District myself, I can attest to the fact that the more things change the more they stay the same. After 26 years in education, what remains true is-educators still have a passion for seeing young minds grow, parents want the absolute best for their children in happy, healthy learning environments, and community members are proud to invest in the well being of students in hopes they grow up as productive citizens.  It is my greatest hope that the students of 59th Street Elementary will thrive academically, but also be college and career ready.

As a school community, let’s commit to making 59th Street Elementary a safe, encouraging, and dynamic environment, where students are eager to walk through our gates beginning at 7:40 a.m. everyday. Improved attendance for some, and maintaining excellent attendance for others, is a prioritized area of focus for the 2023 -2024 school year. With the help of parents, educators and community members,  we can soar and be proud of the service we provide to our boys and girls each day. The children of 59th Street are smart, resilient, persistent, and creative thinkers who are taught by passionate, dedicated, intelligent educators that work hard to make gains toward academic excellence.   We support all students from various backgrounds and rich cultures who will be READY FOR THE WORLD!
